Her compositional style reflects her many years as a percussionist, a path that began at age 9 with the Zimbabwean marimbas and mbira. At 15, she enrolled in online high school, graduating early while studying music at Southern Oregon University. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree in Percussion Performance from the Boston Conservatory of Music, where she also began studying composition and video game scoring through Boston's pro-arts consortium at the Berklee College of Music. That study led her to pivot fully to composition, and at age 22 she earned a master's degree in Scoring for Film, Television and Video Games from Berklee's campus in Valencia, Spain.
